BSC FORMULA: The new formula will consist of equal parts of the AP poll, ESPN/USA Today poll and an average of six computer polls. The 33-33-33 plan beat out the 40-40-20 variety because the commissioners were wary about giving 80% of the formula to the polls. The best and worst of the computer polls will be thrown out and an average of the four remaining will be taken. The new system takes into account the number of first place votes and the total points. A team ranked No. 1 by a wide margin will get more credit than a team that is No. 1 by a few points. (ESPN.com and AJC.com)
