SEC MEETINGS IN DESTIN: SEC coaches and officials met in Destin, Fla., this week for their yearly meeting. All the meetings were expected to end Friday after the league’s annual revenue distribution its members. The league has been working on an in-game procedure this week for instant replay. The SEC is expected to follow the pattern set by the Big Ten which allows coaches to make NFL-style challenges. The only real change for the SEC is upgrading the equipment. There has been a lot of bowl talk concerning what tie-ins the SEC might have for next year. The dominoes are expected to fall after ABC and the Capital One Bowl come to some kind of agreement. Commissioner Mike Slive confirmed that the Gator Bowl is one of the games the league has discussed about rejoining the bowl lineup. SEC basketball coaches are supporting an idea to start the season in late December and end it in late April.
