FLORIDA AT FLORIDA STATE: Florida gained 582 yards to Western Carolina’s 59. Gator tailback Mon Williams ran nine times for 95 yards. Jarred Fayson ran seven times for 77 yards. Quarterback Chris Leak was 9- of- 12 for 100 yards and one score. Tim Tebow was 10- of- 12 for 200 yards and two scores. He also ran six times for 47 yards and two scores. Freshmen Brandon Spikes and Dustin Doe started at linebacker. They were the first freshmen to start since Earl Everett and Channing Crowder did in 2000. Receiver Riley Cooper had three catches for 82 yards and three scores. Brandon James return yardage (155) was a single game record that broke the previous mark of 145 set by Jacquez Green against Kentucky on Sept. 28, 1996. Florida is looking to win three straight in the series for the first time since 1984-86. UF is trying to get consecutive wins in Tallahassee for the first time since 1984 and 86. Florida is 10-1. Only three other teams in Gator history have won 10 games—1991, 1995 and 1996. Since 1990, the team that wins the rushing game has a 15-2-1 record. In 2004, the Gators beat No. 10 ranked FSU in Ron Zook’s final game. This year, Florida is No. 4 and FSU has its worst season since 1981. Receiver Dallas Baker should play despite injuring his knee.

FSU: Quarterback Xavier Lee was 9- of- 13 for 144 yards and two scores coming off the bench. Drew Weatherford was 5- of- 10 for 34 yards. Lorenzo Booker carried 21 times for 80 yards. De’Cody Fagg was the leading receiver with three catches for 46 yards. Linebacker Lawrence Timmons, who had eight tackles and broke up three passes, returned an interception 22 yards for a score. Western Michigan quarterback Ryan Cubit was 27- of- 49 for 229 yards and two scores. FSU held WMU to only 33 yards rushing. Defensive back Roger Williams also intercepted a pass. The Nole kickoff coverage allowed Brandon West to return kickoffs 65 and 56 yards. Tailback Antone Smith dislocated his elbow and is likely out for the season. Junior kicker Gary Cismesia has missed four of his past five attempts. Recruits such as Cameron Wade, a receiver from Cairo High in Georgia, said Jeff Bowden’s decision to resign didn’t affect his commitment. Bert Reed, an athlete from Bay High in Panama City, is a Gator commit, but he is keeping his options open. Chris Little, a lineman at Twiggs County, Ga., is looking at FSU, Florida and Notre Dame. He said the chance made little difference to him. Weatherford needs only 144 yards to become only the seventh quarterback in school history to throw for more than 5,000 yards. Timmons leads the ACC in tackles for loss. In the last five games, FSU has gained 100 yards on the ground only twice.

GEORGIA TECH AT GEORGIA: This is a streaky series. Georgia won consecutive games from 1991-97. Tech won three straight from 1998-2000. Georgia has won five straight. Mark Richt has never lost to Tech. Georgia could have five capable backs next season with Kregg Lumpkin, Thomas Brown, Danny Ware and Knowshon Moreno and freshman Caleb King. Ware and Lumpkin practiced for the first time in two weeks after battling ankle injuries. Redshirt freshman Bryan Evans will start for the second straight game. Georgia hasn’t allowed any sacks in the past two games. Georgia Tech defensive coordinator Jon Tenuta loves to harass young quarterbacks. Georgia doesn’t have a single receiver with more than 22 catches this season.

GEORGIA TECH: Receiver Calvin Johnson is third in the nation with 13 touchdown catches. He leads the ACC in receptions (57) and receiving yards (886). Quarterback Reggie Ball made his 47th start against Duke and has won 29 games. Ball is only 43 yards away from being the 13th ACC quarterback to throw for over 8,000 yards. Durant Brooks leads the nation in punting averaging 40 yards per kick. Linebacker Philip Wheeler is third in the ACC with eight sacks fourth in tackles for loss with 12.5.

KENTUCKY AT TENNESSEE: Wildcat quarterback Andre Woodson, who was 25- of- 35 for 388 yards and four scores in the win over Louisiana Monroe, has 27 touchdown passes on the season. Tailback Rafael Little had 82 yards rushing and 89 yards receiving. He also had a punt return of 84 yards for a score. Kentucky can clinch second place in the Eastern Division by beating Tennessee. Receiver Keenan Burton caught nine passes for 115 yards and three scores against ULM. Burton has four straight games with multiple receiving touchdowns. Woodson has nine games where he has thrown for more than 200 yards. He averages 266 yards per game. Linebacker Wesley Woodyard is second in the SEC in tackles, averaging nine per game. Kentucky allows 271 yards per game passing, No. 119 nationally. Burton has nine touchdown passes in his last four games. Woodson has 12 touchdowns in his last four games. Randy Sanders, a Kentucky assistant, was on the Tennessee staff last year.

TENNESSEE broke a two game losing streak by beating Vanderbilt. Quarterback Erik Ainge was 21- of- 26 for 266 yards and two scores. Tennessee held Vandy receiver Earl Bennett to four catches for 16 yards. Quarterback Chris Nickson was limited to 10- of- 23 for 97 yards and two picks. Vol players said a video showing Vandy beating Tennessee last year provided plenty of motivation. Tennessee is 78-9 in November since 1985. Tailback LaMarcus Coker ran 10 times for 126 yards and two scores. Receiver Robert Meachem had seven catches for 95 yards. Kicker James Wilhoit had a career high 15 points. Defensive back Jonathan Hefney has five interceptions on the season. Outside linebacker Jerod Mayo injured his kneecap in the Vanderbilt game. He had a MRI Sunday, but the results are unknown. Ainge is 16-5 as a starter. Receiver Robert Meachem needs only 21 more yards to break Marcus Nash’s single season record.

MISSISSIPPI STATE AT OLE MISS: Rebel running back BenJarvus Green Ellis ran for 95 yards on 28 carries in the loss to LSU. Quarterback Brent Schaeffer was 6- of -14 for 72 yards and a score. Linebacker Rory Johnson had 11 tackles in the loss to LSU. Ole Miss has won three of the past four games in the series. Freshman receiver Marshay Green had kickoff returns of 62 and 53 yards and a 14-yard punt return. Linebacker Patrick Willis had 12 tackles including three for loss, a forced fumble and a sack. State has not won in Oxford since 1998. The game will not be televised for the third straight season. Backup quarterback Seth Adams replaced Schaeffer in the LSU loss. Schaeffer returned in overtime and had a crucial turnover.

Mississippi State outgained Arkansas 355 yards to 256. They also had more rushing yards (154 to 128) and passing yards (201 to 128) than the Hogs. Quarterback Michael Henig was 9 of 25 for 123 yards and a touchdown and an interception. Tailback Anthony Dixon ran for 89 yards and a score. Linebacker Quinton Culberson had 10 tackles. Henig is out after breaking his collarbone so Omarr Conner (groin pull) will spell him.

SOUTH CAROLINA AT CLEMSON: The Tigers have won eight of the past nine meetings against South Carolina and the last four straight. USC had 181 total yards in the first quarter in the win over Middle Tennessee. Quarterback Blake Mitchell was 21- of- 28 for 388 yards and four scores. South Carolina snapped a three game losing streak by beating Middle Tennessee. They are bowl eligible. If South Carolina gets a bowl bid then Steve Spurrier will be the first coach in Gamecock history to receive bowl bids in the first two seasons. The 52 points were the most since tallying the same amount against Vanderbilt in 1995. Middle Tennessee gained only 200 yards compared to USC’s 545. Coach Steve Spurrier has denied any interest in reports that he was linked to a possible future opening at Miami or Alabama. Since coming off the bench at the halftime of the Arkansas game, Mitchell has completed 60- of- 82 passes for 878 yards and six scores over the past 10 quarters. Late last week, athletic director Eric Hyman unveiled a plan that would cost $250,000 to upgrade facilities. Spurrier is 13-10 at South Carolina.

CLEMSON: Defensive end Gaines Adams needs three sacks to break Michael Dean Perry’s record of 28. Tailback James Davis leads the ACC in rushing with 1,115 yards and 17 touchdowns. Quarterback Will Proctor has thrown for 1890 yards (60%).

ALABAMA’S REGULAR SEASON IS OVER: Alabama finishes the season 6-6 and will await a possible bowl bid. The Tide outgained Auburn 364 yards to 261. Alabama still struggles to run the ball gaining only 112 yards against Auburn. Quarterback John Parker Wilson was 18- of- 33 for 252 yards. He set records for passing yards (2,539) and attempts (346) in a season during the Auburn game. Receiver D. J. Hall also set a season record for receiving yards (1,015) in the game. Wilson also tied Brodie Croyle and his head coach for the most touchdowns in a season with 16. Receiver Nikita Stover caught five passes for 101 yards. The Tide lost three fumbles and an interception. Offensive lineman Marlon Davis will have offseason surgery for cartilage damage.

AUBURN’S SEASON IS OVER: The Tigers beat Alabama for the fifth straight time, which hadn’t happened since the 1954-58. Coach Tommy Tuberville’s Iron Bowl record is 6-2. Receiver Courtney Taylor missed the game with a hamstring injury. Fullback Carl Stewart caught two passes for 60 yards and threw a successful two- point conversion. Defensive end Quentin Groves, who had seven tackles, two sacks and two forced fumbles, is tied for the SEC lead in sacks with 9.5. Senior linebacker Kevin Sears had five tackles and recovered a fumble. He has struggled this season with injuries and a three-game suspension. Punter Kody Bliss averaged 50 yards on six punts. Auburn seniors won their 40th game, a school record. Bowl speculation has the Tigers in the Cotton Bowl against a Big 12 foe or perhaps the Outback Bowl against a Big Ten opponent.

VANDERBILT’S SEASON IS OVER: The Commodore defense allowed 597 yards to Kentucky last week and 420 yards to Tennessee last Saturday.

VIRGINIA AT VIRGINA TECH: Quarterback Sean Glennon threw two touchdowns and linebacker Xavier Adibi had a 35-yard fumble return for a score. Receivers Eddie Royal and Josh Morgan had long touchdown catches. Tech has won five straight games. Tech’s Brandon Pace has 21 consecutive field goals. Tailback Brandon Ore is out with an ankle injury so Kenny Lewis Jr. will get most of the work.

VIRGINIA: Receiver Kevin Ogletree is second in the ACC with four catches per game. Quarterback Jameel Sewell was 23- of- 33 for 217 yards and two scores in the win over Miami.

WAKE FOREST AT MARYLAND: Wake can still clinch the divisional title by beat the Terps. The Demon Deacons were held to only 62 yards rushing in the loss to Tech. Quarterback Riley Skinner was 17- of- 30 for 195 yards. Receiver Nate Morton caught five passes for 94 yards. Running back Kevin Harris is limited with a concussion.

MARYLAND: With the Boston College loss, the Terps can also win the divisional title with a win over Wake. Receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey leads the team and ACC in freshman receptions with 38.

EAST CAROLINA AT N C STATE: A loss to two C-USA teams might end the Chuck Amato tenure by leaving athletic director Lee Fowler no choice in the matter. In his last two games, tailback Toney Baker averages 155 yards per game in total offense. N C State has lost six straight games. In the last four losses, Wolfpack quarterbacks have thrown six picks and no touchdowns.
