Back to work, was the attitude for the Jaguars after Head Coach Jack Del Rio’s 24-hour rule expired. The Jaguars came away from Buffalo with a win, which is the bottom line, but know things could have been much different. That’s why the Jaguars had a businesslike attitude when they got back on the field Wednesday.

“The guys who have been here understand what I’m talking about,” Del Rio said on Wednesday. “The guys who are new I think will embrace it. It’s not unusual for a coach to ask that you turn your attention to the next opponent and that’s what we’re doing.”

Denver has decided to go away from their regular routine, and arrive in Jacksonville on Friday night to perhaps acclimate to the heat and humidity a little bit better. A big departure for Head Coach Mike Shanahan.

“People don’t really realize it until they go down there. I was at Florida for four years and we were on the turf in Tampa, the temperature was 120 degrees. It was over at halftime. They weren’t used to that type of heat. We have a little bit more heat here but we don’t have the humidity. I just hoping it’s a little bit cooler day, but we’ll deal with it. We have no choice.”

The Broncos will practice in Jacksonville on Saturday. The Broncos effectiveness running the ball seems to be something other than great running backs. From Terrell Davis to Mike Anderson to now Quentin Griffin, Denver seems to just plug somebody in and they gain yardage. Some attribute that to scheme, others say the Bronco’s teach a “chop block” on the offensive line that’s “dirty.”

"From what I’ve seen, everything they do is legal, so I’m not worried about it,” Marcus Stroud said on Wednesday. “Everybody in the NFL’s dirty,” added Mike Peterson. “He’s dirty, they’re dirty, they probably say I’m dirty, I just go out and play, I don’t care.”

Del Rio is convinced it’s how they Broncos execute more than anything else. “I think Coach Shanahan does a great job of finding people that he thinks have the qualities he’s looking for in terms of being able to execute the run game. They all understand exactly what he’s looking for and then they go out and do it a 100 miles an hour. That’s just simple execution. They’re good at running and being efficient in how they run the football.”

I think a lot of people try and copy their success. I think they understand exactly how they want to do things. I think they do a very good job at it. It’s a big challenge for us, so we’re preparing for just that. What I expect is our guys to stay on their feet. That’s what we’ll focus on. They’re going to work hard to get them off their feet, we’re going to work hard to stay on our feet.”

The game is blacked out in Jacksonville and surrounding markets because the Jaguars did not sell out prior to 1pm on Thursday. I’ve heard some grumbling about that from fans based on the financial duress a lot of people in North Florida have had to endure based on the recent weather problems. They might be right, but the NFL did not grant an extension to the Jaguars, and it seems the Jaguars did not ask for one. It could be different next year as Jaguars owner Wayne Weaver is considering covering as many as 13,000 seats to bring the stadium capacity more in line with the rest of the league.
